Compliance means actively upholding client confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and working within the limits of your competence. Members must engage in regular supervision, pursue ongoing professional development, and prioritise client wellbeing above all else. Should a member’s practice fall short of these standards—whether through negligence, misconduct, or failure to meet professional obligations—the ISPC reserves the right to review their membership status.
The ISPC is not a regulatory body, but as a professional membership organisation, it has a responsibility to its community and the public to ensure its members embody the highest ethical standards. Allegations of ethical breach will be handled with fairness, transparency, and due process, in line with UK data protection and natural justice principles.
