I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Psychology degree from the UK and a Master of Counselling from Notre Dame University, Australia.
Qualifications aside, the bottom line for me is that I love being with people. I especially value working with those who are genuinely interested in exploring themselves and their life. In truth, I am no different to you — I am a person navigating ups and downs, challenges and anxieties. Life can be difficult; I know that. Having explored my own difficulties deeply, I now feel able to bring what I have learnt and understood into sessions with you.
I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Schema Therapy, CBT and Narrative Therapy to help clients understand how early experiences shape the way they see themselves and the world — always alongside embodiment, intuition and compassion. I am also trained in Mindfulness and meditation, which I also see as fundamental to supporting healing at a deeper level.
I have worked with children as young as six through to adults over eighty, supporting people with anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, depression, domestic Violence, sexual abuse and teenage neuro-diversity. My earlier life and work experiences in healthcare, community services, education and retreat settings all inform my broad sense of understanding and intuition towards others. I have even worked as a tennis coach and a vineyard assistant, so, many many different life experiences!! All of which, I hope, make me highly relatable and easy to be with.
I offer sessions online via Telehealth, which I have found to be incredibly powerful. Although different from in-person work, it can be just as effective. Being in your own environment often creates an added sense of safety, reducing self-consciousness and any pressure to perform, allowing conversations to unfold more openly and naturally.
Overall, for me, counselling is a shared exploration. Sessions are lived experiences where we gently explore past, present and future concerns, while also encouraging the mind and body to pause, breathe and settle.
