I adhere to the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) code of ethics where confidentiality and professionalism combine to offer a quality service.
I am a senior accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and Fellow Member of ISPC (International Society of Professional Counsellors). I have successfully completed the BACP’s Certificate of Proficiency assessment exam which gives me eligibility to go onto the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I have many years experience working as a counsellor with clients with a wide range of issues. My experience has been working both in private practice and in busy GP surgeries, where I saw individuals with a varied range of issues that are as unique as they are. These include, grief & loss, health related issues & terminal illness, relationship problems, separation, divorce, financial and debt related issues, job and study related problems, bullying, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, infertility, PTSD, abuse, eating disorders and chronic pain.
I also have experience working with local authority referrals, Employee Assistance Programme referrals, NHS referrals, GP referrals, and short term counselling and I have experience in teaching counselling skills, theory and in the use of art in therapy.
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT), where necessary, to facilitate the desired changes those that come for therapy want to make. I can offer each person a tailor made therapy that will ensure you live the life you deserve. A happier, more fulfilled life, and to be the person you want to be, with the ability, knowledge and understanding that can help you to cope with life’s difficult situations, whatever they may be.
I do not pretend to have all the answers or to have a magic wand to make your troubles disappear, but I can offer you the support and skills to work through your issues more effectively. I offer a commitment to the therapy sessions and there may be some work involved on your part too, but this is essential if the desired changes are to be effective.
