I’m a Level 5 Advanced counsellor (gained with distinction). I am trained in the person-centred approach to
counselling, however I can combine this with other therapeutic tools to suit each client’s particular needs. For example, I offer grief counselling; I’m trained in Compassion Focused Therapy, (a mindful-based, cognitive behavioural approach) – helpful to individuals with low mood and low self confidence.; ACT therapy for anxiety and depression (a mindful-based, behavioural approach) and qualified to practice the “Rewind Technique” for clients with P.T.S.D. – post-traumatic stress disorder.
I offer counselling over the phone or on the computer via Teams. My fees are £30 per hour with an initial consultation at £15, where you can explain what you need from counselling and we can discuss what I can offer and how we might work together. I offer concessions for students and the unemployed.
One of the features of person-centred counselling is I will listen to you in a non-judgemental way. Many people find if they are listened to in a non-judgemental way and in a safe environment, they are enabled to understand themselves and their needs more deeply and are freer to explore different ways of looking at their life.
As a consequence, individuals can discover more effective ways of living and coping, and become more self directing as they develop insights and solutions to the issues important to them.
Outside my private practice, I have significant experience working as a volunteer counsellor in the charitable and private sectors. As a counsellor working for St. Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln, I see clients experiencing grief
and loss, health-related issues and terminal illness. As a counsellor at Supporting Minds, Lincoln, I’ve worked with issues such as anxiety and depression, stress/worry, low self-esteem, anger, chronic pain, separation and
divorce.
I adhere to the I.S.P.C.’s code of ethics which means I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and professional approach.
I also run a Facebook page onto which I put regular posts, encouraging everyone to think about their mental wellbeing. Please see the link below if you think you might be interested;
Thank you for your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
